The Dirt on Iowa Land Auction Prices – September 26-October 1, 2015

Greetings! Week of September 26-October 1 was a fairly active week for Iowa land auctions. There were a total of 1,409 gross acres offered at auction. Of those farms, 1,139 acres were tillable acres. For the most part, the sales were stable to strong. It appears the market is gaining some momentum as we get into harvest. Several Realtors suggested that harvest was exceeding farmers’ expectations and was adding optimism to the market. One sale was a “no sale,” but was successfully negotiated after the auction. One of the highest sales was purchased by an investor from the state of Florida who wanted some of Iowa’s best farmland. The farm had a CSR/CSR2 of 97.0. One of the highest CSR/CSR2 farms I have ever seen come to auction.

Talk to you soon!  Thanks.
