The Staff Accountant will work with the accounting team on the day-to-day accounting activities of Peoples Company and its affiliate companies.  Responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable, journal entry processing, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation and review.  The Staff Accountant must understand the flow of cash and income between various affiliated and subsidiary entities and ensure accuracy at all times.

The Land Management Intern will perform various tasks assigned by Land Managers and Peoples Company staff throughout the term of the internship. Interns will spend time in Peoples Company's offices (Clive and Indianola, Iowa) with the opportunity to also work virtually. Interns will perform many of the day-to-day tasks of the land management business, including processing data, assisting with written reports, and visiting farms with Land Managers.

We are offering Summer 2025 internships for 40 hours a week. A May start date and August end date are flexible based on the student's school schedules. It is possible that 10-15 hours/week may also be available Spring 2025 school semester if intern’s class schedule allows. It can be helpful to start part time to get to know our processes and software, but not a requirement of the internship. Spring semester work hours would likely be virtual working from Ames.

Appraisers report to the Director of Appraisal and are responsible for representing the company’s appraisal services to the marketplace. Appraisers are responsible for maintaining compliance with local real estate appraisal laws and customs and are expected to set annual commission goals and establish business plans to contribute to the company’s market share. Active appraisal license, real estate salesperson or broker license, insurance, driver’s license and E&O insurance will be maintained at all times.

The Land Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships and accounts with landowners. They will facilitate discussions regarding financial and non-financial goals through written plans to address ownership concerns and will recommend management plans and agricultural lease terms to align with the goals of each landowner. The Land Manager will also network with agricultural advocates, researchers, and retailers to educate landowners, reduce the environmental impact of agricultural production, and encourage a conservation-focused approach to land management. The Land Manager will act as the liaison between landowners, their tenants, FSA and NRCS offices, BLM, USFS, local irrigation offices, and other agricultural organizations.

This role will focus on providing appraisal services for agricultural assets; including annual valuations for institutional investors (full and restricted appraisals), lender and single-asset appraisals, appraisal reviews, and consulting services.  Qualified candidates should have strong analytical, task management, and communication skills; attention to detail; a desire to learn; and a proactive and positive attitude.

Sales Associates report to the designated broker and are the face of the company to the public. The Associate is an independent contractor; however, the Associate is responsible for representing the company’s services to the marketplace. Sales Associates are responsible for maintaining compliance with local real estate laws and customs and are expected to set and meet annual sales goals and establish business plans to contribute to the company’s market share.

Seeking Sales Associate licensed in the states of Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Kansas. The Associate is an independent contractor; however, the Associate is responsible for representing the company’s services to the marketplace. Sales Associates are responsible for maintaining compliance with local real estate laws and customs and are expected to set and meet annual sales goals and establish business plans to contribute to the company’s market share.

The Management Level Licensee assists the Designated Broker with coordination of all real estate activity within their assigned office according to the Board approved company policy manual and state license law. The Management Level Licensee reports directly to the company Designated Broker on a continuing basis, President of the company as needed, and quarterly to the company’s Board of Directors on real estate activity, agent issues, compliance matters, budget control, and progress toward office goals and measurable expectations.
