Description
Appraisers report to the Director of Appraisal and are responsible for representing the company’s appraisal services to the marketplace. Appraisers are responsible for maintaining compliance with local real estate appraisal laws and customs and are expected to set annual commission goals and establish business plans to contribute to the company’s market share. Active appraisal license, real estate salesperson or broker license, insurance, driver’s license and E&O insurance will be maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
Appraisals - Create professional appraisal reports based upon company template. Provide detailed and in-depth analysis that meets the requirements and standards of the Peoples Company appraisal division, USPAP, FIRREA, and other requirements as needed.
Appraisal Review - Review appraisals that are completed by fellow Appraisers and provide feedback on Appraiser’s analysis and opinion of value.
Sales Database - Ability to track and insert new listing and sales information into sales database. Monitor auction schedules, Multiple Listing Services, Realtors Land Institute (RLI), Loopnet, websites of competing brokerages, and applicable newspapers. Draft a detailed sale database write-up and include all relevant information and attachments.
Client Records and Communication - Maintain confidentiality with regard to current appraisal orders, company records, and client contact info. Be respectful and provide best in class customer service when coordinating with clients and contacts.
Technology - Ability to learn and effectively utilize company appraisal software, AgWare, Dropbox, Google Drive, DotLoop, etc. Assist RESC and Appraiser(s) in managing and maintaining files, lists, and processes in various programs and storage media.
Marketing and Promotion - Appraisers serve as the face of the company and are expected to create new relationships and foster existing relationships by utilizing the company sponsored events, tradeshows and marketing materials. Appraisers will be responsible for implementing the company’s marketing strategy and are expected to participate in company sponsored events and strategies.
Compliance - Company Policies and Procedures: Appraisers are expected to read and understand the company policy and procedures manual, agent manual and independent contractor agreements. Agents are required to follow internal processes to keep company in compliance with state and local laws. Brand Standards: Appraisers will be stewards of the Peoples Company brand and are expected to provide information without obligation to clients via the company website.

Appraisers are expected to participate in sales meetings, conference calls and company sponsored events to network internally with other agents. Appraisers are encouraged to work together to maximize resources and opportunities. Appraisers share sales data and appraisal reports with appraisal team members.
Knowledgeable - The company values educated associates and encourages associates to be experts in the specific market they are representing. Appraisers are encouraged to provide market information to clients and referral sources.

Peoples Company Appraisers are consultative and creative when working with clients to create solutions for their real estate needs.
Cross-Selling - Proactively promote all Peoples Company products, services, and divisions. Introduce clients and referral sources to team members of other divisions and maintain sufficient working knowledge of the full line of company products and services so as to recognize cross-selling opportunities.
