Greetings! Last week was an active week for land auctions in Iowa. There were 1,851 gross acres offered at auction. Of those acres, 1,268 acres were tillable. We are still seeing some aggressive prices in areas. Jasper County topped the market last week with an auction price of $11,800/acre. There were several pasture tracts that sold last week. One auction I would describe as very strong in Cass County, and the others as strong. There were two auctions last week that were “no sales.” One auction was negotiated after the sale, and the other one is still for sale. This market will be tested in November and December. There are more farms coming to auction in the next couple of months than we have seen in a while. Keep checking back to see what is happening in the land market. I am expecting stable prices in most areas with strength in areas that have had little coming up for sale. Please take a look at our October auction results. Check back next week for more dirt on weekly land prices.

Talk to you soon!
