The Dirt on Iowa Land Auction Prices – October 20-26, 2015

Greetings! Land auctions this past week were active. There were 1,360 gross acres offered at auction. Of those acres, 1,252 acres were tillable. The market continues to show stability, if not gaining strength. There were no “no sales” last week. All farms sold. There were a couple of sales that I would consider “light,” but –for the most part – it appears the land market is picking up. Better-than-expected yields this fall and additional ARC payments has added optimism to the land market. The number of farms for sale has increased as of late. November will be an active month for land auctions, and will be a good indication which direction the market is going. Please take a look at our September auction results, and keep checking back every week to keep current on changes in the land market and the dirt on weekly land prices.

Talk to you soon!
