The Dirt on Iowa Land Auction Prices – October 1-8, 2015

Greetings! Week of October 1-8 was not as active as the past two weeks for Iowa land auctions. There were  968 gross acres offered at auction. Of those farms, 604 acres were tillable. For the most part, sales are still stable to strong. A consistent message when visiting with Realtors is the higher than expected yields during harvest. This has added some optimism that farmers did not have pre-harvest. There were two “no sales” last week, yet were successfully negotiated after the auction with the buyers being local. All farms offered at auction were sold. Still hearing about investor buyers being runners-up at auctions with the local buyer being the successful bidder. Some wooded tracts sold last week and it appears the market for recreational tracts is good. Please take a look at our September auction results, and check back next week for the dirt on weekly land prices.

Talk to you soon!  Thanks.
