PRICE/ACRE UPDATE

There were 13+ tracts of land sold at auction between January 30th and February 3rd.  This was a lighter week for land auctions. During these auctions, there was a total of 1,203 +/- acres available for purchase and of those acres, 1,035 +/- were tillable acres.  The Price/Acre ranges from $3,700/acre for tillable/CRP and timbered land in Central Iowa to $15,550/acre for transitional land in south-central Iowa.   

A few of the highlights from last week:

• 70.66 acres sold in Warren County for $15,550/acre with a CSR2 of 82.4
• 81.82 acres sold in Henry County for $10,100/acre with a CSR2 of 87
• 97.78 acres sold in Warren County for $9,100/acre with a CSR2 of 63.9

The most active area consisted of Warren County where there were 457 +/- acres sold at auction. These acres were all successfully sold. Overall, the land market appears to continue to move “sideways” with a few higher dollar sales still occurring.
