There were nearly 60 tracts of land sold at auction between December 10th and December 30th. During these auctions, there was a total of 5,654 +/- acres available for purchase and of those acres, 4,807 +/- were tillable acres.  Overall, the sale results were “good” with several “strong” sales. That said, there were one tract that was a “no sale”.  The Price/Acre ranged from $1,700/acre for a tillable tract in south central Iowa to $14,100/acre for a tillable tract in both southeast Iowa. The average Dollar ($) / Tillable CSR2 point for the tracts that successfully sold is $117/pt.  

A few of the highlights from last week:

• 72 acres sold in Henry County for $14,100/acre with a CSR2 of 82.9
• 73 acres sold in O’Brien County for $11,900/acre with a CSR2 of 92.4
• An 80 acre tract and a 72 acre tract sold separately in Linn County, each for $11,200. The CSR2 rating of these tracts were 76.3 and 80.6 respectively.
• 228 acres sold in Sioux County for $11,100/acre with a CSR2 of 64.1
• 159 acres sold in Kossuth County for $7,400/acre with a CSR2 of 79.2
• 40 acres sold in Delaware County for $8,100/acre with a CSR2 of 91.9
• 192 acres sold in Monona County for $3,950/acre with a CSR2 of 58.6
• 69 acres of  land sold in Appanoose County for $1,700/acre with a CSR2 of 34
• 50 acres of pasture land sold in Dickinson County for $2,300/acre
• 40 acres of tillable & recreational land sold in Davis County for $2,375/acre
• 40 acres of tillable & recreational land sold in Appanoose County for $1,700/acre

The month of December was a very active month for land auctions in Iowa. Per our records, there were 87 tracts marketed to be sold at auction in December. Of these tracts, 86 tracts successfully sold and only 1 tract was a “no-sale”. Our December Auction Results report is now available.
