PRICE/ACRE UPDATE

The volume of land auctions over the past two weeks has been rather “light”. There were 13+ tracts of land sold at auction between April 8th and April 21st. During these auctions, there was a total of 1,151 +/- acres available for purchase and of those acres, 821 +/- were tillable acres. The Price/Acre ranges from $2,250/acre for a tillable and recreational tract in Northeast Iowa to $10,850/acre for a tillable tract in Northeast Iowa. The average $/tillable CSR2 point for these two weeks is $116/point.

A few of the highlights from last week:

  • 76 acres of tillable land sold in Buchanan County for $10,850/acre with a CSR2 of 89.3
  • 140.03 acres of tillable land sold in Benton County for $9,000/acre with a CSR2 of 84.5
  • 120 acres of tillable land sold in Plymouth County for $9,000/acre with a CSR2 of 66.7
  • 55 acres of tillable and pasture land sold in Keokuk County for $3,600/acre
  • 80 acres of tillable land sold in Palo Alto County for $9,300/acre with a CSR2 85.7
  • 129.57 acres of pasture and recreational land sold in Adams County for $2,850/acre
