PRICE/ACRE UPDATE

There were only three tracts of land that sold at auction between April 28th and May 5th. During these auctions, there was a total of 319 +/- acres available for purchase and of those acres, 268 +/- were tillable acres. According to our records, there are 20 land auctions scheduled between now and June 27th with a total of 33 tracts being marketed for sale. The inventory of farms for sale remains low. Across the State of Iowa, we are showing that there are only 89 +/- highly-tillable tracts that are publicly for sale at this time which is less than one per county.

Here are the results from last week:

  • 196.34 acres of tillable land sold in Plymouth County for $11,500/acre with a CSR2 of 76.1
  • 37.0 acres of tillable land sold in Mills County for $8,223/acre with a CSR2 of 84.4
  • 86.04 acres of tillable and recreational land sold in Mills County for $5,025/acre with a CSR2 of 59.7

Check back next week for continued conversation on the auctions we’re seeing from around the state and be sure to take a look at our April Auction Results.  Please make sure and hit the “like” button on Facebook and follow us on Twitter @PeoplesCompany.
