PRICE/ACRE UPDATE

There were 7+ tracts of land sold at auction between April 1st and April 6th. During these auctions, there was a total of 672 +/- acres available for purchase and of those acres, 569 +/- were tillable acres. The Price/Acre ranges from $5,100/acre for a tillable and pasture tract in West-Central Iowa to $8,500/acre for a tillable tract in Central Iowa. The supply of high quality farms that are available for purchase at this time is very slim. Our records indicate that there is less than one high quality farm for sale per county in Iowa.

A few of the highlights from last week:

  • 155 acres of tillable and pasture land sold in Guthrie County for $5,100/acre with a CSR2 of 54.9 on the tillable acres
  • 77 acres of tillable land sold in Monona County for $5,175/acre with a CSR2 of 57.0
  • 98 acres of tillable land sold in Marshall County for $8,500/acre with a CSR2 89.1
  • 155 acres of tillable land sold in Linn County for $6,800/acre with a CSR2 61.0

Check back next week for continued conversation on the auctions we’re seeing from around the state and be sure to take a look at our March Auction Results.  Please make sure and hit the “like” button on Facebook and follow us on Twitter @PeoplesCompany.
