Local Organizations To Benefit From Helble Farmland Auction - Clinton & Scott Counties

Donna Helble has a long tradition of giving back to the community. This tradition continues even after her passing on March 13, 2017. Dr. Helble owned 381 acres m/l of high quality farmland in Clinton and Scott Counties that will be sold at auction in four tracts. Proceeds from the sale of the farmland will benefit local organizations.

The organizations that will receive contributions from the proceeds of the sale include: Central Community Education Foundation for the Helen Jeanne Helble Endowment Fund (DeWitt, IA), Westwing Place for purposes the governing body determines (DeWitt, IA), United Methodist Church for purposes the governing body determines (DeWitt, IA), Iowa State University for the Donald W. Helble Scholarship Fund (Ames, IA), Winona, Minnesota Area Public Schools Foundation for the programs and activities of elementary students, Central United Methodist Church for Sunday School, Bible School and related activities (Winona, MN), Chapter CS of the P.E.O. Sisterhood to develop a scholarship in the Helble name for the benefit of female high school graduating seniors of Winona Senior High School (Winona, MN), Big Brothers/Big Sisters 7 River Region to establish an endowment for the benefit of the Winona office and its activities (Winona, MN), Winona County American Red Cross to be used as the governing body directs (Winona, MN), Iowa Beta Chapter of the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity at Simpson College to be used as needed by the House Corporation (Indianola, IA), Foundation of Rotary International to be used to promote literacy projects worldwide, Pi Beta Fraternity Foundation to be used to promote literacy projects, Winona Community Foundation to be used as a special interest fund for promoting literacy of the youth of Winona. Any residual amount in the estate will be donated to Winona State University Foundation to be utilized for a new building for the College of Education or renovation/addition to the current building, and Simpson College for a new building for the Department of Education or for the renovation/repair of the current building.

A breakfast will be provided by DeWitt Bank & Trust Co. for those attending the auction. It will be served on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 8:30-9:45 a.m. at Central DeWitt High School, 519 East 11th Street, DeWitt, Iowa. The farmland auction will begin at 10 a.m. at the school and will be conducted by Alan McNeil, Doug Yegge and Jared Chambers of Peoples Company.
