The Iowa Chapter of the Appraisal Institute is sponsoring a course titled “Drone Technology and its Impact on the Appraisal Industry.” The course at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Urbandale runs from 8 a.m. to noon on May 20, 2016.

This seminar should be of interest to everyone. Appraisers who want to be enlightened on the future may want to register for this course. A drone will allow appraisers to view the entire property in all directions.

Enhance your technological analysis and broaden your knowledge by understanding the complexities of drones at the local, regional and national areas. Attendees of the May 20 seminar will learn about federal regulations, arguments for the pros and cons of drones, and categories for types of uses of drones. The course will cover applications with regards to highest and best use, and market analysis.

Instructor Lamar H. Ellis, III, MAI, SRA – an expert on drones – will reveal several photographic examples and illustrate how photos enable appraisers for litigation, surveying, development, and other activities. The Iowa Chapter is fortunate to have Mr. Ellis present the seminar. His services are in great demand by most chapters.

At the end of the seminar, attendees will be motivated with regards to how drones can be used in an appraisal practice. This is a class during which you will receive information to take home.

Cost for the course is $100. Four (4) hours of continuing education credits have been approved for appraisal certification renewal in Iowa, four (4) hours of continuing education credits have been approved for Realtors by the Iowa Real Estate Commission, four (4) hours of continuing education credits have been approved by the Appraisal Institute and four (4) hours of continuing education credits have been applied to the Iowa Department of Revenue for assessors.
