Peoples Company today announced the opening of an office in Louisiana, expanding the firm’s presence in the Mississippi Delta region. The office will be led by local land manager Julie Boggs and local sales agent Thomas Boggs.
Peoples Company first established a presence in the Mississippi Delta by opening a Jonesboro, Arkansas, office in May 2020. The company further expanded its presence in 2021 via a strategic partnership with Memphis-area-based Landmark Ag Capital. The addition of Julie and Thomas Boggs represents the company’s third expansion in the region in three years.
“The addition of Julie Boggs and Thomas Boggs to Peoples Company’s already strong presence in the Mississippi Delta will not only offer opportunity for local landowners who are seeking an innovative approach to land management but also to our clients across the country who are looking for local knowledge of high-quality land in which to invest,” said Peoples Company President Steve Bruere. “We are thrilled to add two talented professionals of Julie’s and Thomas’ caliber to officially launch our presence in the state of Louisiana.”
Julie Boggs began her land management career at Delta Land in Mer Rouge, Louisiana. Over the following eight years, she managed property for the owner of the company, investment funds, and several families, including her own. Julie and two other managers were tasked with the management of 125,000+ acres of farmland, covering Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. She built an extensive network of successful farmers in the region, directly managing over 75 tenants across 18 parishes/counties. Her management knowledge includes farm leasing, rental analysis, annual farm budget creation/execution, farm plan creation/execution, USDA farm programs, and landowner reports. She is very knowledgeable in the crop production process, particularly with rice, soybeans, cotton, and corn.
Thomas Boggs grew up on his family’s farm in Rhymes, Louisiana. After a career in managing private investments and loan underwriting, Thomas joined Farmland Partners as a land manager in 2018. Since then, he has been doing farm management and farm acquisitions in the Delta region and in the High Plains of Colorado. He oversaw the management of over 35,000 cropland acres and 32+ tenants across Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Colorado, Nebraska, and Georgia. Thomas was responsible for farm and recreational leasing, inspections, individual farm budget creation/execution, production analysis, yield reporting, and USDA farm program compliance. He has extensive knowledge of rental rates, farmland prices, hunting lease rates, capitalization rates, water sourcing, and commodity markets.
“We are proud to join Peoples Company and open the company’s first office in Louisiana,” said Julie and Thomas Boggs in a joint statement. “Peoples Company will bring to Louisiana an unparalleled approach to farmland management and brokerage through our intensive and comprehensive programs, industry-leading marketing and technology, emerging energy rights management division, and our robust network of agricultural professionals positioned across the country.”
The Peoples Company Louisiana office is located in Monroe, Louisiana.
