Michael Schorpp

Michael Schorpp is a Certified General Real Property Appraiser licensed in the State of Iowa, specializing in agricultural property appraisals throughout Iowa and transitional development property appraisals across the Des Moines metropolitan area. He joined Peoples Company in 2022 and has developed his appraisal expertise through mentorship from experienced agricultural real estate professionals and valuation assignments involving a variety of property types.

Michael provides appraisal services to attorneys, banks and financial institutions, farmland owners, trustees, estate executors, beneficiaries, and real estate investors. His experience includes agricultural land, row-crop farms, recreational properties, and transitional development ground. His appraisal practice includes assignments for bank lending, estate settlement, trust administration, inheritance matters, and investment-related purposes.

With a focus on Iowa agricultural real estate markets, Michael understands the importance of well-supported property valuations for significant financial, legal, and landownership decisions. He combines agricultural real estate knowledge with market analysis to develop credible opinions of value tailored to each property's characteristics and intended appraisal use.

Michael was born and raised in Algona, Iowa, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Studies from Iowa State University. He currently resides in Cumming, Iowa, providing a local connection to the Des Moines metropolitan area while serving agricultural property owners and clients throughout the state. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and hunting.
