Jake Sickels

Jake Sickels is a Land Agent with Peoples Company, a nationally recognized land advisory firm that provides brokerage and auctions, farm management, appraisals, capital placement, energy management, and crop insurance services across the country.

Jake's primary focus is the marketing of Iowa farmland and rural properties through a variety of brokerage and auction methods. He works with landowners, families, trustees, and investors to maximize exposure and identify the sales strategy that best aligns with their goals. At the same time, Jake believes the best solution is not always a transaction. One of the reasons he enjoys working at Peoples Company is the ability to help clients through a broad range of services beyond brokerage. Whether a client needs farm management, portfolio analysis, appraisal services, energy consulting, succession planning support, or assistance with a sale, Jake focuses on finding the solution that best serves their objectives.

Jake specializes in trust and estate assets, 1031 exchanges, portfolio optimization, buyer representation, and seller representation. He frequently works alongside families, trustees, attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors to navigate estate settlements, ownership transitions, land divisions, and investment decisions. His approach centers on understanding each client's objectives and developing a strategy tailored to their unique circumstances.

Raised in Indianola, Iowa, where Peoples Company was founded in the 1960s, Jake appreciates the company's long-standing commitment to helping landowners throughout Iowa and beyond. He values the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most experienced professionals in the land industry, allowing clients to benefit from expertise that extends far beyond a traditional brokerage relationship.

Jake joined Peoples Company in 2018 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from Iowa State University. He is exclusively licensed to sell real estate in Iowa and has helped clients buy and sell land in more than 40 Iowa counties with a combined market value of over $200 million dollars. Jake is an active member of the REALTORS® Land Institute, Iowa Association of REALTORS®, National Association of REALTORS®, the Des Moines Estate Planners Forum, and serves on the Board of Warren County Conservation. He has also been recognized as a top producer by Peoples Company, REALTORS® Land Institute, and Land.com.

Jake resides on a first-generation farm south of Des Moines with his wife, Hannah, and their son, Charlie.
